Q: How often will academy come to service and maintain my lifting equipment?
A: Each different type of equipment has individual maintenance requirements dependant on age and operating conditions as well usage. At academy we detail within the service level agreement how often we will attend.
If you require a visit at a specific time, then this can also be included.
Q: I have a lift and am not sure who the original manufacturer is, can academy help me?
A: As an independent lift company, academy will support and maintain all lift and lifting equipment, regardless of original manufacturer. Our experience and expertise is such that we have always been able to support our clients no matter how old or unusual your equipment might be. After all we are the experts.
Q: What happens if my equipment does not operate correctly and I require the services of an attending engineer?
A: All you have to do is call academy on our 24 hour customer support help desk number (01925 242227), and our trained support team will then take all your details and dispatch an engineer to you, it’s as simple as that.
Q: What if my equipment support is required outside normal working hours, can academy still provide me with a range of services and support?
A: We at academy have structured our business to ensure we can support you when you need us. Our customer support help desk never closes and our on site engineering support team can and will attend when you call us.
Q: What if I need an engineer’s attendance in an emergency, how long before academy can attend?
A: Our engineers and technicians when dispatched by our help desk will respond within the contract definitions. However in the event of a passenger entrapment we aim to be on site within the hour. During such occurrences our customer support team will communicate with you to add the additional reassurance that sets us apart from the rest.
Q: I have a lift that does not comply with DDA, what can academy do for me?
A: As lift experts, academy provides all our clients with open clear advice. If you need to comply with DDA then we can make our proposals in a clear, uncomplicated way. Your lift may be partially compliant and if so only small changes may need to be made. So for a clear, uncomplicated technical report contact our sales team.
Q: As a building owner or operator what are my legal requirements?
A: Firstly you must ensure that all your equipment is supported and maintained under a support contract. Here at academy we can provide you with a full range of support services. However if you are an employer or perhaps a self-employed person and are providing lifting equipment for use at work, or you have control of the use of lifting equipment, then you will need to comply with the requirements of Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)
