Lift Repairs

Responsive Lift Repairs

Lift breakdowns can disrupt building operations, inconvenience users and, in some environments, prevent essential services from operating as intended. Responsive fault diagnosis and repair helps restore safe operation, minimise downtime and return the lift to service as quickly as possible.

Repair services are available for passenger lifts, goods lifts, platform lifts, service lifts and accessibility lifts installed across commercial, residential and public sector buildings. Support can be provided for equipment installed by a wide range of manufacturers, regardless of the original installation company.

Engineers are available 24 hours a day for emergency breakdown response, fault investigation and planned repair work throughout the UK.

24-Hour Lift Breakdown Response

When a lift stops operating, a rapid response helps minimise disruption for building users and reduces the time equipment remains out of service.

Following the initial call, an engineer attends site to investigate the fault, assess the condition of the lift and identify the cause of the breakdown. Where possible, repairs are completed during the first visit. If replacement parts are required, recommendations are provided together with the most appropriate course of action to return the lift to service safely.

Emergency breakdown support is available 24 hours a day for customers with the appropriate service agreement.

Fault Diagnosis & Lift Repairs

Faults can occur for many reasons, including worn mechanical components, electrical failures, door equipment faults, safety circuit issues or control system problems.

Repairs begin with identifying the underlying cause of the fault rather than simply resetting the lift or replacing components unnecessarily. Once diagnosed, defective components can be repaired or replaced to restore safe and reliable operation.

Where repeated failures occur because equipment has reached the end of its service life or replacement parts have become obsolete, lift modernisation may provide a more practical long-term solution.

Repairing A Wide Range Of Lift Systems

Repairs can be carried out on a wide range of lift systems, including:

  • Passenger lifts
  • Goods lifts
  • Platform lifts
  • Service lifts
  • Accessibility lifts

Support is available for lifts installed by a wide range of manufacturers, with repairs carried out according to the equipment installed rather than the original supplier.

Reducing Downtime Through Planned Repairs

Not every repair follows an unexpected breakdown. During routine maintenance visits, engineers may identify worn components before failure occurs.

Replacing worn components during planned repair work can reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns, improve reliability and help extend the working life of the lift. Where larger assemblies become uneconomical to repair, recommendations can be made regarding refurbishment or lift modernisation.
